John Ventosa

John J. Ventosa is a founding partner at McCabe Coleman Ventosa & Patterson PLLC where he practices primarily in the areas of criminal defense, personal injury, and business and personal transactions.

 

Prior to joining the firm as a partner, John served his community as a Senior Assistant Public Defender in the Dutchess County Public Defender’s office, where he represented individuals charged with everything from simple violations to violent felonies and developed a reputation for aggressive, unrelenting representation of his clients’ interests and a keen knowledge of the law.

 

John partnered with some of the most well-respected and experienced attorneys in the Hudson Valley and continues to serve his community by bringing that same aggressive and skilled representation to the private sector.

 

Prior to joining the Public Defender’s office, John worked at various law firms handling plaintiff’s personal injury and medical malpractice cases. As an avid martial arts fan and practitioner, John also represents Mixed Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athletes and has helped them negotiate deals with various sponsors and promotions, including ONE Championship. John is also a partial owner of Hudson Valley Grappling, a local professional submission grappling promotion.

 

John earned his BA from New York University and his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law. He is a member of the Dutchess County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, New York State Defenders Association, and the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is admitted to practice in New York State and in the United States Federal District Court for the Southern District of New York.

 

John is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish.
